Jun Ji-hyun Joins Blood Project

Jun Ji-hyun is cast as the lead in the International co-production Blood: The Last Vampire. The live-action adaptation of the Japanese animation of the same title from 2000 is in the hands of Jet Li's Fearless director/producer team: Ronnie Yu and Bill Kong.

Besides the Asian participation, French Pathe is also onboard as a financer and it's expected that a major Hollywood studio will produce Blood: The Last Vampire. The role of a half-human/half-vampire undercover daemons fighter will be Jeon's English language and Hollywood debut.

Jun Ji-hyun's success throughout Asia started with My Sassy Girl and Hollywood bought remake-rights of several films starring Jeon. This year's The Lake House - starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock was the first remake. The remake of My Sassy Girl is currently in production, with Elisha Cuthbert in Jeon's role.

Kong's credits also includes titles as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon and the recently finished Zhang Yimou production Curse of the Golden Flower. Yu has already experience in Hollywood, where he directed the horror films Freddy vs. Jason and Bride of Chucky.

Filming is to commence in January 2007 and the film is scheduled for release in the spring of 2008.
