Park Ji-young to Star in "The Red Sleeve"

Actress Park Ji-young is expected to instill tension in the drama "The Red Sleeve".

"Park Ji-young has confirmed her appearance in MBC's new drama "The Red Sleeve"", her agency PrainTPC said on the 20th.

The new MBC drama "The Red Sleeve" is based on a popular webtoon of the same name. It depicts the life of Seong Ui-bin, who was a court lady and rose to the rank of the first queen as a lady of the court, and her love with King Jeongjo, the 22nd king of the Joseon Dynasty. It is the work of writer Jeong Hae-ri and director Jeong Ji-in.

According to PrainTPC, Park Ji-young plays the role of Court Lady Cho, the supreme power of court ladies, who encompasses hundreds of court ladies. Cho is a powerful political figure behind the scenes, and observes Deok-im (Lee Se-young) since her childhood.

Through this work, Park Ji-young will challenge the historical drama for the first time in five years since SBS's "Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo" in 2016.

"The Red Sleeve" will air for the first time in the second half of 2021.
