August of 2022 has arrived with its fair share of incredible thrillers, melodramas, and more. However, sometimes, all you need is a comedy K-Drama that will wash away your blues. Here are my picks for the top 5 comedy K-Dramas that will have you rolling on the floor laughing.

"Welcome to Waikiki"

No list of recommendations for comedy K-Dramas would ever be complete without "Welcome to Waikiki". Starring the talented Kim Jung-hyun, comedy king Lee Yi-kyung, the swoon-worthy Jung In-sun, and more, this drama is a found family story surrounding three friends who run a guest house but dream of making films. Without a doubt, "Welcome to Waikiki" is a laughter riot.

"The Sound of Your Heart"

Starring Lee Kwang-soo and Jung So-min in the leading roles, "The Sound of Your Heart" is a comedic masterpiece that tells the story of Jo Seok (a webtoon artist who is also the author of the webtoon this drama is based on), and his often crazy family. Slice-of-life situational comedy at its finest, "The Sound of Your Heart" is definitely a K-Drama you do not want to miss. It is short, crisp, and absolutely hilarious.

"Good Manager"

A hotshot accountant who used to work for the most dangerous gangs turns into a regular office worker and stands up to corruption within the company. The eponymous Good Manager is played by Namkoong Min, so you already know that this is going to be a rollercoaster ride. Buckle up because you're going to love every second of it.

"Zombie Detective"

Kim  Moo-yeong is a zombie who disguises himself as a human to run a private detective company in the big city. Chaos ensues when Gong S eon-ji becomes a part-timer at his agency. Together, they're a crime-fighting duo that you did not know you needed but just can't get enough of. Starring Choi Jin-hyuk and Park Ju-hyun, "Zombie Detective" is a must-watch.

"Cafe Minamdang"

Finally, we cannot forget the ongoing K-Drama that is stealing viewers' hearts worldwide: "Cafe Minamdang". Starring Seo In-guk, Oh Yeon-seo, Kwak Si-yang, Kang Mina, and more, "Cafe Minamdang" is a crime thriller that is equal parts riveting and hysterically humorous. It tells the story of a former profiler who becomes a shaman to earn big money and opens up Cafe Minamdang. However, his business is not entirely a scam. The drama is currently streaming worldwide on Netflix so if you haven't started watching it yet, I highly recommend that you do.
