[HanCinema's News] Yoon Kye-sang Confirmed for "The Kidnapping Day"

Actor Yoon Kye-sang recently had his next project confirmed. The star of "Kiss Sixth Sense" and "Spiritwalker" from earlier this year will next appear in "The Kidnapping Day" in 2023. There he will play Kim Myeong-joon, a hapless figures who kidnaps a ten-year-old genius in order to try and raise funds for his own daughter's hospital bill. The drama will be based on the thriller genre novel of the same title. Director Park Yoo-young of "A Model Family" will be directing the project, while Kim Je-yeong of "Cheese in the Trap - Movie" will be the credited screenwriter. The press release did not make it clear which network "The Kidnapping Day" will appear on. However, Netflix seems to be the most likely distributor, as all of Park Yoo-young's known credits are with Netflix projects.

There is no word yet on who will play the kidnapped genius child Ro-hwi. With the major star and principal crew now confirmed, "The Kidnapping Day" is now likely to focus on casting for this rather important role. In a statement, Yoon Kye-sang said that he was happy to announce a new project, that the source material is exciting, and that he was already planning for how to best approach it with viewers. Yoon Kye-sang also promised to do his best.
