[HanCinema's News] Son Bo-seung Appears in "Nevertheless"

The role of actor Son Bo-seung was finally confirmed this past June 26th when he appeared on "Nevertheless" on jTBC. Though previously confirmed for the drama, his exact role had remained a mystery. Now, he is known to be playing the character of Min-sang, a senior member of the social group of art students around which the largest cast revolves around. His characterization has also been shown to be as rather boorish, and borderline misogynist.

In the context of the second episode, Min-sang appears during a social dinner held between members of the group. In this scene, he speaks directly to the taciturn lead character played by Han So-hee, who is uncomfortable in more extroverted situations. Despite her discomfort, Min-sang persists in trying to draw her into conversation. This finally provokes an agitated response from the rest of the group when he suggests that women are better able to endure spicy foods due to childbirth.

This is not the first time Min-sang has played such an unpleasant character, although this role is quite a bit more subtle than the one he recently played on "The Penthouse" series of dramas. There, he played a bully in the high school entourage. Despite playing a college student in "Nevertheless" Son Bo-seung is actually one of the younger actors in "The Penthouse" dramas at twenty-two years of age. He made his debut in "Father, I'll Take Care of You" back in 2016.
