[HanCinema's News] Lee Chae-dam Discusses her Regrets as An Adult Film Star

In a recent interview, adult film star Lee Chae-dam claimed that in the early part of her career she regretted her work choices. She stated that ten years ago, when she started this work, the people around her said that there would be problems later on with negative comments. However, in practice, Lee Chae-dam said that adult films weren't much worse than the other work she had done up until that point. Also, Lee Chae-dam said that she loved acting so much that she could do it all night long.

Lee Chae-dam went on to say that working has been the only time she felt like she could breathe. Originally, Lee Chae-dam said that she did not intend to be an actress, and only took her first job out of circumstance. For about six months she agonized over filming, and wanted to delete it all once filming was completed. A boyfriend connected to this work was also bad for Lee Chae-dam. At one point, she was hospitalized with broken ribs due to their fighting.
Lee Chae-dam had no hopes and no one to talk to. She felt like none of the people she did talk to could understand her personal situation. Consequently, acting was how she was able to pass the time with her sickened interior. Yet despite her being pigeonholed as an adult actress, Lee Chae-dam expressed an interest in doing more mainstream work. Lee Chae-dam also said that even as a woman in her eighties, she wanted to be the kind of actress who could shoot bed scenes.
However, as an adult film actress in Korea, Lee Chae-dam feels like she has hit a limit. She cited Chang Mi-hee as a role model in terms of being able to act into an older age group, despite her heyday being in the eighties, and was envious of her ability to shoot scenes with exposure. Despite the commonality of adult film stars worldwide, Lee Chae-dam didn't think such appreciation for craft was popular for her. Still, Lee Chae-dam expressed hope that she, too, could inspire younger actresses.
