First K-Pop Contest To be Held in Egypt

The Middle East will hold its first ever Korean pop singing contest later this month.
The Korean embassy in Egypt says it will hold the contest on July 28th in Cairo, giving fans the opportunity to express their love for Korean pop music.
The embassy added, that since a large number of people want to participate, it will hold a preliminary round next Monday to pick the top 15 teams for the official competition.
The event is aimed at promoting Korean culture in Egypt and throughout the Middle East.
An embassy official says that if the competition runs smoothly, it will hold similar events in other Arab countries.
