Cha Joo-young Considers Title Role in "Wongyeong"

Actress Cha Joo-young, who received attention as 'stewardess Hye-jeong' in the hot drama "The Glory", will challenge for a new title role.

According to a report by Sports Chosun on the 9th, Cha Joo-young was selected as the main character of tvN's new drama "Wongyeong" (written by Lee Young-mi, directed by Kim Sang-ho-I).

On this day, her agency Ghost Studio said, "Cha Joo-young has been proposed to appear in "Wongyeong" and is positively considering it".

"Wongyeong" is a work that tells the story of Queen Wongyeong, a 'royal co-founder' who joined hands with King Taejong Lee Bang-won to gain power 600 years ago. It will portray the story of Queen Wongyeong, who had no choice but to be written as the incarnation of jealousy and desire in the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty.

Cha Joo-young plays the title of the drama, Queen Wongyeong. Wongyeong is the daughter of Minje, the most prestigious family of Goryeo, who married Lee Bang-won, two years younger than her, and eventually rising to the throne.

Cha Joo-young gained popularity in the Netflix original series "The Glory" by playing Hye-jeong, a stewardess who bullies Moon Dong-eun (Song Hye-kyo).

She recently received favorable reviews from viewers through KBS 2TV's "The Real Has Come!" and showed off various charms by appearing on an MBC entertainment show.

TvN's "Wongyeong" is a collaboration between director Kim Sang-ho-I, who directed " Avengers' Social Club", "Money Game", "Spring Turns to Spring", and "Can You Hear my Heart", and writer Lee Young-mi, who wrote "Money Game". It is preparing for broadcasting in the first half of next year.
