[Aisha's Take] K-Drama Friendships We Wish To Have In Real Life (2022 Version)

K-Dramas not only raise our expectations for a perfect love interest but also in friendships. No matter whatever struggles the lead goes through, they always have a best friend standing by their side. These friendships are the most ideal. They are there to wipe each others tears, give valuable advice and support each other, no matter what.

We have collected a few examples of K-Drama friendships that you wish to experience in real life too.

"Extraordinary Attorney Woo"-Dong Geu-ra-mi And Woo Young-woo

The greeting style that went viral, Woo Young-woo (Park Eun-bin) and Dong Geu-ra-mi / Circle (Joo Hyun-young) made it to the top of the list. The two truly defined friendship, i.e loving and supporting each other even when everyone else disapproves of you. Both of them didn't have friends in high school. Young-woo was bullied because of having autism spectrum disorder, but that was until Geu-ra-mi took a stand for her. Since then, she began to follow Geu-ra-mi and offered a friendship pact.

Ever since, the two have been inseparable. Young-woo heavily relied on Geu-ra-mi for any sort of advice and Geu-ra-mi is always ready to give her confidence and support. Even though her advice may seem crazy and absurd, it always seems to work. She would even motivate Young-woo, whenever her work put her down and would even readily stand up for her whenever needed.

"Twenty Five Twenty One"- Moon Ji-woong And Ji Seung-wan

Whilst "Twenty Five Twenty One" gave us many iconic examples of friendship, Moon Ji-woong (Choi Hyun-wook) and Seung-wan (Lee Joo-myung) have a special place in fans' hearts. We often witness friendships of the same sex in K-Dramas but "Twenty Five Twenty One" broke the stereotype between them.

Ji-woong and Seung-wan were childhood bestfriends, often mistaken as lovers. Ji-woong was the boy crush of the campus who only had his eyes on him . Whilst Seung-wan was the class topper. Ji-woong struggled after his parents separated. He found solace in Seung-wan's house, which is why we often found him there.

When Ji-woong was constantly abused by his teacher, Seung-wan could not take it anymore. She took a huge risk by reporting it to the police. She was disappointed when she received no help, so she dropped out in protest. Seung-wan risked her life to get her friend justice. After dropping out, her future was full of doubts, but she still held her head high and never regretted her decision. Because it was all in the name of friendship.

"Glitch"- Hong Ji-Hyo And Heo Bo-ra

Talk about how opposites attract. By the end of 2022, "Glitch" gave us another friendship to envy. Nana (Heo Bo-ra) and Jeon Yeo-been (Hong Ji-hyo) taught us how friends would do anything to help each other, even when the situation seems absurd.

Bo-ra and Ji-hyo's story first began when they were in middle school. Both were isolated from the rest of the school. Ji-hyo spent most of her time investigating about UFO whilst Bo-ra was a deliquient everyone stayed away from. The two seperated after a misunderstanding, only to meet after several years.

An idea that Ji-hyo planted was continued by Bo-ra. She did not hold any grudges against Ji-hyo for the false accuses but instead, when she heard about her boyfriend, Bo-ra was ready to help. She went to any extent to help her in the case and it wasn't just for her videos. Similarly, Ji-hyo sacrificed herself by making herself the bait so Bo-ra could escape.

A friend in need is a friend indeed.

These friendships took the viewers on a ride filled with emotions. They embodied the true meaning of frienship and successfully made us wish to find a friendship just like so.
