[Aisha's Take] Is "Doctor Cha" Really Dragging Their Storyline At This Point? Viewers Express Their Disappointment

"Doctor Cha" gained success in its early broadcasting age. With a promising cast and storyline, the drama was adored by many K-Drama fans.

"Doctor Cha" tells the story of Cha Jung-sook (Uhm Jung-hwa) who decides to return to the medical field after 20 years. Whilst she struggles every day as a first resident at her age, she realises that it is not the only thing she has to worry about. Her family was falling apart.

Cha Jung-sook's husband, Seo In-ho (Kim Byung-chul), had been cheating on her and even had a love child with Choi Seung-hee (Myung Se-bin). The truth finally begins to unveil  and Jung-sook connects all the dots in episode 8. With the climax finally out, fans wished for the story to finally pick its pace, but it seems like the drama writers have another plan.

"Doctor Cha"'s rating experienced a downfall from its highest rating, 18.493% (Ep.12) to 14.42% (Ep.13).

Even after Jung-sook proposed the idea of divorce, episodes 13 and 14 kept dragging the issue. Jung-sook's mother's illness was foreseen quite earlier but at that point, it felt useless. It did not build up any tension, since her issue was quietly resolved.

This also made Jung-sook hide the truth from her mother, but even after learning the truth, Jung-sook does not discuss the matter of divorce with her nor her kids. She continues to act all alone even though her children are by her side. It was In-ho who revealed the news to their son.

Also, in episode 14, Jung-sook sends court papers to In-ho, but fans predict it to be of no use. By the end of the episode, Doctor Cha coughs out blood, indicating that her health has begun deteriorating. This brings the show back to its initial episodes when Jung-sook was looking for a donor. And she might also have to leave her career- once again.

Fans hope that the disease does not further drag on the storyline. Not only do we look for a closure between In-ho and Jongsuk, many fans wish Jung-sook to finally begin seeing Professor Roy (Min Woo-hyuk) in a new light.

What do you think the last two episodes have in store for us?
