"I play the character Lee Cho, a devilish, sharp shooting sniper with the North Korean military".

Until now few women had taken on active roles in war movies and critics say her acting will be a breath of fresh air.

After the hit TV drama Secret Garden, actress Ha Ji-won is back with another action-packed movie called "Sector 7".
Ha is an oil worker dispatched to a deep sea oil drilling platform.
She is forced to put down the heavy equipment and arm herself with guns to fight off a monster.

"She is tougher than most men and can't tolerate injustice. She is like a warrior character".

As the country's first 3D blockbuster, "Sector 7" depicts the life-and-death battle with a alien-like monster in the far off open seas.

Another sought-after actress, Kim Ha-neul, plays a blind woman- a first in her acting career.
To prepare for the role, she went through weeks of simulated experiences of the blind, including reading Braille and walking with a guide dog for the visually impaired.
She said the toughest job was focusing her vision on a single spot for prolonged periods.

"Ironically, it was tough having vision in this role. Curbing your natural eye focus and vision was hard".

The three actresses are gaining much attention for their one-of-a-kind portrayals in these films that critics say promise to heat up the summer box offices.
