The Good, The Bad, The Weird wraps up China shoot

The cast and crew of Kim Jee-woon's hotly anticipated western "The Good, the Bad, the Weird" has overcome extreme weather and unexpected delays to wrap up a 100-day shoot in China.
Production of the film is now 80% complete, with the remaining 20% of shooting to take place in North Jeolla Province. A release is expected in the first half of 2008.
The entire production crew for the China shoot numbered more than 400 people, who struggled to deal with desert conditions where temperatures ranged from 10 degrees Celsius at night to 40 degrees in the afternoon.
The remote site also presented many challenges, as some of the best shooting locations were inaccessible by road. Nonetheless, with close assistance from China Film, the crew was able to complete the difficult shooting and return to Korea.
The film features top stars Jung Woo-sung ("The Good"), Lee Byung-hun ("The Bad") and Song Kang-ho ("The Weird") in a story set during the Japanese occupation of Korea and Manchuria. Thanks to the resume of director Kim Jee-woon -- responsible for such Korean cinema classics as "The Foul King", "A Tale of Two Sisters" and "A Bittersweet Life" -- it is considered one of the most anticipated Korean films of 2008.
International sales agent Cineclick Asia will present a new promo reel of the film for buyers at the upcoming American Film Market in November.
