While the April issue of the fashion magazine ELLE with Yeom Hye-ran was released on the 20th, Yeom Hye-ran said, "I wanted to show you my smile, so I was glad for this opportunity. It would have been better if my daughter Seon-ah (Choi Soo-in) came", she said.

When asked what she had in mind to act out Hyeon-nam in the drama, Yeom Hye-ran said, "I thought about the brightness of this woman who was born with cheerfulness in her days rather than darkness. Hyeon-nam starts to get up with a tremendous stretch in Part 2". She expressed her affection for the role, saying, "It's a character that made me think more about where the woman who has undergone tremendous changes like growing up will head after this, rather than before the character".

She said, "When I get in the car with my daughter for the first time in the drama, Seon-ah says, "Mom, you're so cool. Let's listen to my songs!". I think the scene where we went to the sea together was probably the only scene where the two laughed as much as they wanted", she said. "The filming weather was also very good. Seon-ah, who saw her mother driving for the first time, may have been surprised, but her deep and mature daughter is suddenly portrayed like an innocent baby in the drama".

"It seems to be the charm of Kim Eun-sook's writing to be able to describe a character beyond the expected range. It was a scene where I live without being cheerful, but I want to protect my child's innocence and brightness".

Regarding Hyeon-nam's motherhood, she also said, "Isn't everyone sick and tired of mythical motherhood? However, there are various mothers in our work, such as a trashy mother and a mother who sends distorted love. Hyeon-nam shows unconditional motherhood, but I don't think she endured everything only for her daughter. It is a structure in which her daughter and she grow up together, saving her daughter as Hyeon-nam stands tall", she explained.

Finally, when asked about the kind of ajumma she likes, she said, "I think other ajummas will be disappointed if I choose one. I like women who are courageous in their daily lives, people who know how to speak out or quietly practice what they believe is right", she said, cheering for courageous ajummas.

Yeom Hye-ran is set to release Netflix's "Mask Girl" in the third quarter and is in the midst of filming tvN's "The Uncanny Counter Season 2: Counter Punch".
