On the first episode of "Marriage Contract", Kang Hye-soo (UEE) got injured in a car accident when she went to the restaurant operated by Han Ji-hoon (Lee Seo-jin) to submit her resume.

Ji-hoon, who is a manager of the Strategic Planning Department with the headquarter company, came to their newly opened restaurant called "Promise" to present a congratulatory address there. And then he borrowed a vehicle from his longtime friend Park Ho-joon (Kim Kwang-kyu) and went out driving the car.

Hye-soo dropped off her resume. And then when she was coming out of the restaurant, she saw her daughter Cha Eun-seong (Shin Rin-ah), who was busy playing with a cat, almost getting hit by the car driven by Ji-hoon. She ran towards her child to save her and she all of sudden lost her consciousness running. She fell down and was sent to the hospital in an ambulance.

Ho-joon called Ji-hoon and warned him "Don't trust her at all. How can someone lose consciousness even though she didn't get hit by a car even? She may be one of those self-injury scammers".

"Marriage Contract" is a classic melodrama about a man, whose only value of life is money, and a woman, who is standing at a cliff of her life. The drama talks about the dramatic encounter of the two and their experience to find true meaning of love.
