In the twelfth episode of KBS 2TV "Dream High" (written by Park Hye-ryeon and directed by Lee Eung-bok) on the 15th, Ko Hye-mi (Bae Suzy) goes looking for Song Sam-dong (Kim Soo-hyun) who wouldn't attend the showcase and falls into shock when she finds out he is losing his hearing.

Song Sam-dong then decided to attend the showcase and declares, "I will do as the stage tells me. What the stage says is my future. If I ruin my stage I will give up my dream but if I succeed I will keep dreaming".

On the thirteenth episode, his performance is finally on and he loses a tempo and tune. Right before he ruins it Hye-mi goes up on the upper stage and sends him signals.

She puts her thumb up in telling him to raise the key and keeps the beat for him with her fists. When Sam-dong sees this, he begins to save his performance. The audience gave the stage created by their communication, a big round of applause.

As the performance is over, Sam-dong can't help but cry and says, "Mean thing". After the performance, he tells Hye-mi, "It's ok, you don't have to take care of me anymore" and decides to train the perfect pitch.
