The fourteenth episode of SBS drama "Deep-rooted Tree" revealed the contents of Kang Chae-yoon's dead father Seok-sam's (Jung Suk-yong) will.

Kang Chae-yoon pointed a knife to Sejong (Han Suk-kyu) but wasn't trying to kill him. Sejong knew about Chae-yoon's intentions. He said, "You didn't come here to kill me. You came here to kill yourself".

Chae-yoon turned the knife around to his own throat but Moo-hyool (Cho Jin-woong) stopped him. Sejong said Lee Do's everything started on the night he saved Kang Chae-yoon and the end would come when the writing was completed. He was sure that completing the writing would be for the people. However, Chae-yoon sneered at him and said, "No there will be no power but only responsibility".

When Sejong asked, "Why do you think like that?" he said, "This is all because of my father's will, which is also why I want to die". He held up the will.

It didn't say, "This is unfair, I have no sins. Avenge me". It said, "I have sinned on everyone because I don't know how to read and write. You have to learn how to be literate and serve the lady well.

Kang Chae-yoon said weakly, "I didn't lose to you. I lost to Dami (So-i/Shin Se-kyung) and my father. He said not to take vengeance and instead to forgive you" as he walked away. Sejong said to his back, "Let's fight some more. On the day I proclaim the writing I will lower a fate on you".
