Special mentions went to actress Rhee Young-ran for her title role in "Sara Jeanne" by Kim Seong-Sook in this year's 55th Berlin International Film Festval.
Sara Jeanne, an aging prostitute in a military base-side town hides her wrinkles with heavy make-up, puts on faded worn-out clothes and earns her living by selling her body to American soldiers.
However, she no longer has anywhere to stand and her life grows more vulnerable to the danger of violence.
According to the secretariat of the Busan International Film Festival, movie 'Sara Jeanne' heard the assessment that this movie expressed a tragic screen well in which individual tragedy and social pain involved.
On one hand, this year's Berlin International Film Festival introduced a total of four Korean films in its Panorama section such as 'Green Chair' and 'Sara Jeanne'.
