Song Seung-heon’s Japanese Fan Club Site Server Frozen

The server of actor Song Seung-heon's Japanese Web site ( http://www.seungheon.jp ) was shut down soon after its launch as the actor's fans rushed to access it.

Song's agency said the site was officially to be launched at 1 p.m. on July 19 but that the server was paralyzed for five hours due to online traffic congestion.

Some 30,000 people posted inquiries about the subscription during the four hours immediately after the server's operation was restored, with 20,000 members signing in.

The actor's agency was astonished to see how popular Song was in Japan despite the fact that he is still serving in the military.

The actor's fans can subscribe to the Web site not only via the Internet but also via post and the Japanese convenience store chain Lawson. While Song's fans in their 20s and 30s mostly signed in via the Internet, those older than 40 visited convenience stores in person to subscribe to the Web site, attesting to the popularity of Song among people of various age groups.
