Song Il-kook, "I'm actually not too confident about being a lobbyist"

"I'm not too good with carrying on conversations so I don't think I would be able to become a lobbyist in reality", says Song Il-kook who is starring as a lobbyist in the drama series to start airing on October 10th of the same title.

At the "Lobbyist" premiere held on the 28th, Song Il-kook says, "To be a lobbyist, you have to first of all be able to carry on conversations very well, but I am nothing like that so I would not be suited to be one if someone told me to. If I try to lobby anything I would probably fail".

"Just a while ago, I was surprised when Linda Kim and her daughter visited our set. I feel bad that I was too busy filming and couldn't have the time to talk to her much".

Unlike his roles full of confidence in "Jumong" or "Lobbyist", Song Il-kook is known for his shy and careful attitude, always struggling through interviews.

Even in the interview after the premiere, he says, "I really don't know how I became an actor", took takes a moment to think and continues, "My grades were so bad I had to retake the college entrance exam, and when my mother went to get my fortune told, they told her I would become an actor. But she didn't even bother to believe it. I didn't have a hint of talent that even my mother couldn't notice in this field. I even did not know. I used to be a very introverted person who enjoyed drawing, but that changed as well. I feel I change whenever I stand in front of the camera. I am the happiest when I am filming".

He also says, "I am asked if overseas filming wasn't difficult, but I seem to have more energy and enjoy harder shoots. Time goes by faster, too. I would have to feel that it was difficult to say so, but I don't".

In regards to the English featured in the drama, "The most stressful part about filming this drama is the English. It was very stressful".

But the English he spoke in the premiere episode was still rather smooth.

When commented, "Your English pronunciation is good", he says smiling, "Thank you. I went abroad to study English before along with many personal lessons".

"Lobbyist" and "The Legend" are now going to be competing in the same time frame. He says, "As we put our maximal efforts into our series as well, I hope both dramas do well".

However, Song Il-kook also adds, "My mother is a Bae Yong-joon fan so she is enjoying 'The Legend' very much. When "Lobbyist" starts, I don't know which one she will watch. But I do think she will watch "Lobbyist" at least on the days I am at home".
