Sixty years of Korean Movies which have been walked outside of the Cheonggye Creek

Korean movies which were produced even sixty years ago such as 'Free Wife' which gave a big shock on Korean society in 50s, 'Late Autumn' which was popular in 1966, and 'Woman of Winter' which brought the biggest number of audiences in 1977 came out to the street of Cheonggye Creek. They gave a positive motivation on Korean movie industries which has been depressed.

You can enjoy the movies through「The Exhibition of Korean Movies Post-'the collections of Jong-Hwa Jeong, a movie maniac」which has been progressed in the Berlin Square and Yemoon Gallery. This exhibition has been prepared to celebrate the 2nd Chungmuro International Film Festival in Seoul which will commence on 3rd of September. Through this special exhibition, the history of Korean movie industries will be shown.

Jong-Hwa Jeong, the chief of Movie Information Center and a film investigator, has been devoted his life collecting and recording of movie information. He has collected about 20,000 of information about films. He brought 100 pieces of movie posters and 1,000 of rare documents of movies in the exhibition.

In the Yemoon Gallery of Junggu Culture Center, there are Korean movies pamphlets, movie magazines like「The Movie World」and 「International Movies」which were published in 1955, stills of movie actors like Seong-Ho Kim, Ji-Mi Kim, and Hee Mun, and various promotional materials like theater tickets, pamphlets, and tickets of trade show.

Also there are a lot of information of movies that a senior actress called Eun-Hee Choi has acted and movies that Korean famous actor called Seong-Gi An when he was a child actor. You can enjoy a thousand of special information of Korean movies from 1950s to the present. The exhibition will be progressed until 21st and no admission fee is needed.
