Series of Export Contracts for Oseam

Oseam is entering the international market. Theatre animation Oseam, which was introduced to movie screens in Korea last year, is now engaged in numerous export contracts with several countries including France and Israel.

Since its opening in Korea last year the artistic quality of Oseam has been widely recognized, and the film was recently exported to France and Israel as a testament to its great potential.

Cinema Service, which is in charge of the overseas distribution of Oseam, recently signed a contract with Les Films Dupreau, a French animation distributor, to arrange the theatrical screening of Oseam, as well as its video sales and TV licensing. Les Films Dupreau plans to introduce Oseam in theatres in France within this year.

Oseam will be aired on Israeli cable TV Jasmine, and Cinema Service stated that contract talks are currently in progress with Germany's video and air broadcasting company.

Oseam will participate in the Anshi Festival this year, too. Deputy Director Jeong Hyeon-jin from Cinema Service says, "The emotional storyline and exotic Asian artwork has attracted much interest from the European market".

He also explained that its performance at the Anshi International Animation Festival could have a positive effect on the animation's foreign marketing position.

Oseam, known for beautiful graphics and powerful plotline, is the fruit of Mago21's three-year-long effort.

The hostility of Korean theatres towards animation at the time of Oseam's showing resulted in a somewhat disappointing business achievement of early termination and shift screenings. It was, however, relaunched after an "Anti Early Termination" movement by Animation Supporters and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
