S.Korea Submits Lone Bid to Host 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup

South Korea has submitted a lone bid to host the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup without North Korea.

The [South] Korea Football Association said on Wednesday that it submitted the bid as a sole host to meet the bidding deadline on Tuesday.

"We initially considered making a joint bid with North Korea, but we were not able to properly discuss it with the North", a KFA official said Wednesday. "But we will continue to work to engage the North for the event".

The host of the event will be announced in March next year.
