The Cultural Heritage Administration said Thursday that the entrance fees to four royal palaces inculding Deoksu Palace in Seoul and royal tombs across the country will be waived from Saturday through Aug. 25 to celebrate Liberation Day which falls next Thursday.
The CHA hopes the free admissions will help boost tourism amid declining Japanese visitor numbers due to a spat with the neighboring country.
