Are we going to see celebrity soldiers Kang Ha-neul and Ji Chang-wook on stage soon?

On March 8, the actors, who are both currently in military service, were spotted at the production briefing for upcoming musical "Shinheung Military Academy" in Yongsan, Seoul. The musical is co-produced by the Republic of Korea Army and Shownote Company, the production group behind hit musicals "Hedwig" and "200-Pound Beauty".

Set in 1910, "Shinheung Military Academy" tells the story about Korean freedom fighters led by Lee Hoe Young, who sold his property, donated his savings, and moved to China to open the "Shinheung Military Academy". At the Academy, he trains soldiers and civilians who later led victorious battles for independence against Imperial Japan in attempts to regain the country.

The 120-minute musical production commemorates the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Korea this year. A total of 20 performances will be staged starting September 2018 at Theater Yong, National Museum of Korea in Seoul.

As of yet, there is no confirmation regarding the participation of either Kang Ha-neul or Ji Chang-wook in the military musical. Information will be announced as soon as it is available.

Meanwhile, the duo worked together in musical "Thrill Me" in 2010, where they famously "shared deep sensual kisses numerous times". The popular musical is based on the true story of a murder case in Chicago.
