Rape Suspect Comedian Most Searched Online

A comedian with surname Yang, who allegedly attempted a sexual assault, topped the nation's No.1. search engine Naver's most searched keyword list last week.

Police sought an arrest warrant for the 26-year-old Yang over rape attempt charges on Aug.24. Yang reportedly tried to rape a 21-year-old university student when he took her to a motel and told her to take a rest while he watched a DVD movie. Yang admitted to his sexual harassment charges, but denied the rape attempt.

A local TV news program airing a car accident near Seoul National University of Education subway station in southern Seoul nabbed second place.

A car raced along a street near the station and hit several pedestrians. SBS aired the surveillance camera tape without blurring the image to lessen viewers' shock. The airing was widely criticized.

Coming in third was the final episode of MBC drama "Coffee Prince". The story of a young girl dressed as a man, who falls in love with her handsome boss hooked many young viewers.

SBS drama "King and I" placed fifth. The story of a man who falls in love with a royal concubine and becomes a eunuch to be near her drew many people's attention.

MBC variety show "Muhandojeon" ranked seventh. Six men portraying different characters creating both discord and harmony throughout the 60-minute program is one of the weekend's favorites. When Yoo Jae-suk, the main presenter, mimicked his fellow performer Park Myung-soo's actions to mock him Saturday, the fans applauded.

Seoul Drama Awards held last Monday placed 10th. Manga-based Japanese drama "Nodame Cantabile", which airs on MBC Movies, was chosen as the best mini-series drama while Takuya Kimura and Helen Mirren won the Best Actor and Actress Awards for their performances in "The Grand Tribe" and "Prime Suspect", respectively.

Football striker Lee Donggook's marking his first goal for Middlesbrough Thursday in the Carling Cup third round against Northampton placed sixth. The 28-year-old and seven-month-Premiere Leaguer led his team's victory by 2-0.

The fire even moved to nearby countries such as Albania and alarmed the whole European community. The fire placed ninth.
