President Lee Urges Media to Focus on National Interest

President Lee Myung-bak says that broadcast media should keep in mind what best suits and protects national interests.
Lee's remarks came during his address at a ceremony held on Thursday, to celebrate a day for the nation's broadcast media industry.
Stressing Korea is a divided peninsula and that it lacks sufficient natural resources Lee urged broadcasters to focus more on pursuing national interests.
Lee also pointed out that backed by the government's support, Korea's broadcasters should make more efforts to diversify content in order for the country's media industry to be more globalized.
