PIFF signs MOU with Mumbai Film Fest

The Pusan (Busan) International Film Festival (PIFF) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for art-industrial collaboration with India's Mumbai Film Festival, Saturday, in Berlin, said PIFF organizers.

Lee Yong-kwan, festival director of PIFF, and Srinivasan Narayanan, festival director of the Mumbai event, signed an agreement on bilateral exchanges for artistic, financial and educational ends.

Both parties have agreed to closely cooperate to promote the development of the Asian cinema industry.

"Following an MOU with the Vietnam International Film Festival last year, this agreement shows that the Pusan International Film Festival keeps performing its roles in creating a firm foundation for the Asian film market that will help establish a world-class film industry.

"This agreement strengthens the global status of the Pusan International Film Festival and empowers the role of Pusan International Film Festival as the hub of the Asian Cinema Business as a global industry", said PIFF.

The 16th edition of PIFF will open from Oct. 6 to 14 while the 13th Mumbai Festival will be held from Oct. 13 to 20. Visit www.piff.org for more information.
