Park Bo-young Accused of Breaching Contract

Actress Park Bo-young, the starlet of hit movie "Scandal Makers", has been accused of breaching a contract by Botem, a movie production company, her agency Humane Entertainment said, Thursday.
Botem has filed a complaint with a Seoul district prosecution office against Park and her agency, claiming that Park failed to observe the contract calling for her to appear in a movie.
However, her agency said it will file a counter-complaint, claiming that Botem defamed her.
Botem claimed that the actress deceived the company by pretending that she would act in the film "The Sound of Ice" (working title), even though she had no intention of doing so in the first place.
It also claimed that she unilaterally discontinued practicing figure skating, required for her role in the film. At the same time, it said her agency swindled 115 million won out of Botem under the pretense of costs for movie production.
However, Humane said she quit practicing figure skating because it caused her pain in her spine.
"We have proposed Botem replace her with another actress", a Humane official said. "Park has received no guarantees. We were co-producing the movie and discussing ways to cover production costs. But it suddenly filed a complaint against her. It's an attempt to defame the actress".

`과속스캔들'의 여배우 박보영이 영화사에 의해 사기혐의로 피소됐다.
영화사 보템은 1일 박보영과 소속사 휴메인엔터테인먼트를 상대로 각각 사기 및 횡령 혐의로 서울중앙지방검찰청에 고소장을 제출했다. 배우 박보영이 영화출연을 이행하지 않았다는 이유 때문이다.
이에 대해 소속사측은 명예훼손이라고 강하게 반발하며 맞고소를 시사했다.
보템은 "박보영이 영화 '얼음의 소리'에 출연할 의사가 없었음에도 출연할 것처럼 속였다"면서 "지난해 6월부터 연기를 위해 피겨스케이팅 연습을 하다가 일방적으로 연습을 중단했다"고 주장했다. 또한 "휴메인 역시 제작비 등 명목으로 9500만원을 가로챘으며 영화제작에 따른 사무실 마련 비용 2000만원을 갚지 않아 고소했다"고 밝혔다.
이에 대해 휴메인은 강력하게 반발했다. 박보영측은 영화 출연을 위해 박보영이 두 달 동안 스케이트 연습을 하다 척추 통증으로 영화 촬영을 지속할 수 없었다고 주장했다.
휴메인의 한 관계자는 "배우가 우선인만큼 다른 배우를 찾아보자고 제안했다"면서 "박보영은 영화 출연료도 한 푼 받지 않았다"고 말했다.
이 관계자는 "공동제작을 추진하다 영화가 중단된 만큼 제반 경비 등도 서로 상의해서 지불하자고 논의하던 중이었고 무턱대고 고소부터 하는 것은 배우를 불명예스럽게 하자는 의도"라고 주장했다.
