[Orion's Ramblings] Im Si-wan Meets Questionable Neighbors in New "Strangers from Hell" Teasers

Im Si-wan's protagonist is about to experience a severe case of stranger danger in OCN's upcoming "Strangers from Hell". The drama is the next installment in the channel's 'Dramatic Cinema' project, so we can expect some hefty work put into its production quality.

In the teasers released a very cautious Yoon Jong-woo (Im Si-wan) enters his apartment's hallway in the dreaded gosiwon, a type of minimal, affordable housing. Those are perhaps very generous descriptors for this dump, but it's the people in it that will present a bigger problem for our lead.

Jong-woo repeats his words from the first cast reveal teaser. "This place was hell. A terrible hell created by other people". Said other people are what a Greek expression calls "Grab one and hit the other", meaning they are all equally bad options, or in this case equally creepy and alarming in presence.

I found myself constantly replaying the video to enjoy the off-putting expressions of every character, portrayed as seen in sequence by Lee Joong-ok, Park Jong-hwan, Lee Jung-eun and Lee Hyun-wook-I. I've been invested in this since its announcement, but seeing them all in character really seals the deal.

The drama is helmed by PD Lee Chang-hee of the appropriately offbeat "Haunters" and penned by Jeong I-do-I of "Save Me" and "The Item", further raising my personal expectations. "Strangers from Hell" will be premiering on August 31st.
