[Orion's Drama News] Battle of the OTPs

The Monday-Tuesday prime time dramas are approaching and we have casting confirmations, promotional material and more for a lot of works. Busy time for us busy drama fans. I am also happy to introduce some new drama related content I will be handling for the site starting soon. Join me in my ramblings and drop a comment to let me know how your drama week went!

Trolling Casting Directors

Seeing Hwang Jung-eum and Ji Sung in competing time slots was a funny enough coincidence. Then came the news that Lee Hyeri of "Reply 1988" will be Ji Sung's leading lady and Ryu Jun-yeol of "Reply 1988" will be Hwang Jung-eum's leading gent. This made me laugh, because I pictured the casting directors furiously trying to one-up each other. I hope to follow "Entertainers", although the tight schedule's potential impact on the drama itself and Lee Hyeri's health worry me.

Drama Episode Reviews

Guess who's coming to town? No, not Santa Clause. I miss him too, but we have to wait. Even so, I am large and named after him so perhaps I qualify. This week marks the start of my drama episode reviews for HanCinema. William and Lisa have been doing a great job at it and while this is a new type of piece for me, I will work hard. I start with "Vampire Detective" and "Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho".

New Drama Week

The week is finally here for some drama additions. "Vampire Detective" gets an early start on Sunday and we have a trailer and press photos out. The Monday-Tuesday dramas are also reaching the peak of their promotion. "The Royal Gambler" has new posters and a teaser video, "Monster - 2016" is cutting it short, but finally has more posters and "Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho" keeps up its upbeat style. You can read more about it in my preview. Web-drama "Tomorrow Boy" starts this Monday as well.

Upcoming Drama Goodies

We have a lot of casting news this week, some of which I already mentioned above, but fans of Lee Kwang-soo have something new to smile about. He and Jung So-min have been cast in "The Sound of Your Heart", which has added more actors since that first announcement. "Mirror of the Witch" is continuing to fill its team as well and next up is Mun Ka-young taking on the role of a warrior. "Another Miss Oh" has released script reading stills and we have the first images of Chun Jung-myung for "Master - God of Noodles". He is sadly not making noodles yet.

Followed Dramas

I am still not over "Signal", so I am taking the healthy approach of clinging onto it with all my might and watching it again with my mother. "Descendants of the Sun" has sadly gotten a bit over the top for me again, but I will always have episodes 7 and 8. Still behind on "Please Come Back, Mister", but I hope we get significant plot progression soon. Also, I want to kill Yeong-soo all over again. When will he ever mature? I am hoping that is why he was allowed to come back and it cannot come soon enough.

Will you folks be following any of the dramas starting this week? Which one do you feel you might like most and why? Personally I hope Park Shin-yang does his lawyering well and Lee Joon sucks well. He's a vampire, get your mind out of the gutter!
