[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Ruthless Training and Civilian Conflicts in First Teaser for "Live"

Upcoming Noh Hee-kyeong drama "Live" has released a short, but intense teaser, and it's as descriptive as one would expect. We may only get brief flashes of different training exercises as well as actual situations on the field, but you can already tell that the folks in this police drama don't have it easy.

This is actually quite a smart video, because it shows us a lot without revealing too much. The risk with concept videos not featuring scenes from the actual work is that you don't trust what you see. The risk with videos featuring the work's content is that you may see too much. "Live" goes for short and sweet, which I can appreciate. After all, we don't need to see but a glimpse of the main cast to recognize the very popular actors, and we already know the drama's premise.

This is a story which interests me, because officers of the law in Dramaland are a bit of a sordid character type. Most of them are incompetent and unprofessional, or they become gruff action heroes. This is not limited to the police, since Dramaland doesn't have a very good relationship with realism in general, but the force is a unit we don't really get to experience much outside of works including it, rather than focusing on it. I look forward to "Live" as a less exaggerated, dedicated look into a group rarely portrayed with any kind of dedication.

"Live" will premiere on March 10th on tvN. Joining Noh Hee-kyeong once more is director Kim Kyoo-tae. The drama stars Jung Yu-mi, Lee Kwang-soo, Bae Sung-woo and Bae Jong-ok.
