[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Park Hae-soo and Lee Hee-jun Courted for Drama "Chimera"

PD Kim Do-hoon ("Medical Top Team", "The Moon Embracing the Sun") is planning his return after a 6-year break, and his upcoming piece, "Chimera", is courting one heck of an exciting duo. Actors Park Hae-soo and Lee Hee-jun are reportedly reviewing their respective casting offers favorably.

Set to air in the second half of the year, "Chimera" is about searching for the true criminal behind a modern day case that seems connected to a string of serial killings in 1984 sparked by a bombing. Park Hae-soo ("Persona", "Memories of the Alhambra", "Prison Playbook") and Lee Hee-jun ("Drug King", "Miss Baek", "Mistress") are some solid, exciting names to have on board, so things are already thrilling with this announcement.

PD Kim Do-hoon, who has also worked on "Royal Family" and "Spotlight", joined JS Pictures after leaving MBC in 2016, and he reportedly has great plans for "Chimera". The PD aims to challenge bold production techniques that have not been attempted before, while telling the story of characters who have been hiding the truth behind tyranny and corruption for over 30 years.

There is no channel attached to the drama yet, but it will reportedly be penned by writer Lee Jin-mae ("Ex-Girlfriends' Club", "Secret Agent Miss Oh"). My experience with Kim Do-hoon's "Medical Top Team", and this looking like a new genre for Lee Jin-mae give me pause, but I'm interested in the premise and casting wishes of "Chimera". I'll bite, series. Give me more.
