[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Jung Kyung-ho to Reportedly Lead Soul-Selling Drama "When the Devil Calls Your Name"

Leave it to Jung Kyung-ho to go for interesting projects and characters! According to an exclusive piece by jTBC, the actor will lead "When the Devil Calls Your Name", a drama about a genius composer who has sold his soul to the Devil. The series will be out on tvN in the first half of 2019, and it will be produced by Min Jin-gi ("Circle", "Golden Tower"), and written by Noh Hye-yeong ("Please Come Back, Mister", "How to Use Guys with Secret Tips").

This is some crew we have here. Before I start murdering my keyboard with excitement, the premise details. Jung Kyung-ho's composer protagonist has reached the top of his industry with an almost superhuman display of skill, ruling supreme over music royalties. The reason behind this success, however, is the aforementioned selling of his soul ten years ago. Well, now we know how Korean drama "geniuses" reach top positions while barely into adulthood.

Five days before his soul contract expires, the composer starts desperately fighting for his very being. "When the Devil Calls Your Name", which is described as an 'occult human melodrama', follows him on his adventure to get an extension for his contract. There is a catch, however, the Devil being The Devil and all; if he wants out, our protagonist will have to find three people who have made a similar deal, and collect their contracts.

Will he be an antihero or a villain protagonist? Will this be a "Bedazzled" sort of deal, where one good act will save his soul? Will our hero start feeling sympathy for his targets? It's a fresh concept for a Korean drama, that's for sure. We have a PD and writer close to my Ori-heart, who have dealt with outlandish material before, and Jung Kyung-ho will play this role like nobody's business. Now give me someone magnificent to play the Devil and I'm all yours, series.
