[Orion's Daily Ramblings] JTBC to Remake US Series "Younger"

JTBC is going after those US remakes hard, and its continued love for women-centric stories makes yours truly a happy puppy. Next up on the remake slate is TV Land series "Younger", the story of a divorced woman in her 40s trying to re-enter the job market by pretending to be in her 20s.

In the original, she also happens to work in a publishing house, which reminds me a bit of "Romance is a Bonus Book" in premise, divorce and motherhood aside. If tvN's foray into the concept is successful, I wonder if we'll see this age-bending element return as a Dramaland trend. You never know what will stick, and they're always looking for the next big thing.

JTBC has commented on their decision, saying "We were drawn to the strong woman's character and the good storytelling, so we decided to remake this. We will do our best to attract the interest of local audiences with a remake that fits current times and circumstances". The series is planned for 2020, so keep its potential in your heart while we wait.
