[Orion's Daily Ramblings] Deadly Cults and Cryptic Visions in Trailer for "Children of a Lesser God"

OCN is really enjoying its brush with cults ever since "Save Me", and before PD Kim Seong-soo's next piece on the darker side of religion comes out, "Children of a Lesser God" will be filling that space. The show's latest short promotional piece provides a look into a case in the present poking at deep wounds of the past.

The Jonestown massacre was a clear inspiration for "Save Me", as it has been for many a related topic in entertainment throughout the world due to its infamy. It looks like this latest piece by OCN goes all out in touching upon the topic, as we see it happen in the life of a little girl, who I am guessing grows up to become our heroine, Kim Dan (Kim Ok-vin).

The video then switches to the present, where our two leads are handling a case on an island. I finally get a glimpse of something I've been looking forward to, and that is Jae-in's (Kang Ji-hwan) reaction to Dan's gift. As expected, when she tells him that she knows who did it, Jae-in questions her claims of "seeing it", sarcastically asking if she's clairvoyant, and if this is fantasy, rather than an investigation.

Dan's ability makes its ominous, bell-accompanied appearance again, and her comment of coming to the island being a bad idea makes me curious as to whether this visit sparks some sort of memory of the past for her. Jae-in closes the video by saying that this journey will be longer than he thought, which is a good closing for raising anticipation.

"Children of a Lesser God" has also released a short character teaser, so spot all the lovely familiar faces. The drama will begin its run next weekend, and I'll be following it. You can check out my preview piece this Saturday.
