[Orion's Daily Ramblings] "Come and Hug Me" Releases Beautiful Contrasting Posters

I seem to have missed something major about "Come and Hug Me" during my break from checking its promotional news out, which means that its posters landed on me like a ton of bricks. I did not expect this connection between the characters, and I'm now left wondering how it will all work out.

It seems that our policeman hero, Chae Do-jin (Jang Ki-yong) is not only the romantic hero torn from his loved one (Jin Ki-joo )due to a serial killer, but the son of said serial killer (Huh Joon-ho). This makes the main romance to one of his father's victims a whole different ball game, and one that sounds very tragic at that.

The drama has released posters playing on these clashing bonds, with the couple ones being romantic, but sombre, and the family bond ones appropriately tense and oppressive. The couple ones read "I will protect you at all costs". Fair so far, but our hero is torn, as the father-son ones also read "I will protect you, dad".

I was interested in the series before, but it's definitely more intriguing now. At the same time, I'm having trouble buying the romance of someone whose boyfriend possibly refuses to let his father pay for his crimes. This could be a healing romance, or an incredibly problematic one belittling a victim's trauma in the face of a handsome childhood sweetheart.

Whichever the case, the posters are great and the cast is solid, so I may give "Come and Hug Me" a go, at least enough to see how they handle these twisted connections.
