[Orion's Daily Ramblings] "A Korean Odyssey" Lands Netflix Deal

Well, there you have it, folks. Upcoming fantasy drama "A Korean Odyssey" has been picked up by Netflix for worldwide distribution. Netflix's Vice President of Content Acquisition, Rob Roy says that he is happy to bring Korean content to the world and part of said content lately have been "Argon" and "Prison Playbook".

In case you've been wondering where all your shows have gone to, particularly from tvN and OCN, this piece of news is your answer. The director of CJ E &M, Seo Chang-ho, has mentioned the company's wish to distribute Studio Dragon and CJ E & M content globally. This means that there are plenty of deals happening between Netflix and the two companies and that we'll be seeing more in the future.

This isn't exactly great news for fans, I have to admit. Global distribution through Netflix is great and a step forward for the content's visibility. Having to wait for the dramas and wondering if and when they'd make your local library kind of brings us backwards in time. That being said, the Korean drama distribution scene has been rapidly changing as of late, so let's hope that these are just growing pains.
