"Old Partner" to Compete in Sundance 2009

A South Korean independent documentary, by director Lee Chung-ryoul will have its North American premiere in competition at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival. Held in Park City, Utah, the festival will run January 15 – 25, this year celebrating its 25th anniversary.

LEE's "Old Partner" will screen in the World Cinema Documentary section. It follows a humble octogenarian farmer who lives out his final days with his spitfire wife and his loyal old ox in the Korean countryside. The HD documentary is currently screening in competition at the Seoul Independent Film Festival.

Fest head, Geoffrey Gilmore has opened the event to a broader spectrum of talent this year, saying, "This year's films are not narrowly defined. Instead we have a blurring of genres, a crossing of boundaries: geographic, generational, socio-economic and the like".
