Not idol but actor Lee Junho

Lee Junho has starred in three movies so far. The three movies are "Cold Eyes", "Memories of the Sword" and "Twenty".

What is surprising is that he has grown into an actor in just 3 movies. Some may be prejudice and say that he's got an advantage because of his idol image. However, he's too good to criticize. He's already doing well enough 'for an idol'.

The response to his casting of "Cold Eyes" wasn't that great. He hadn't been reviewed or approved before and many worried that he might be messing up the movie. No one thought about expecting anything from him.

"I've always wanted to act since I was young. So I moved to a high school with an acting group. I was in a show called "Superstar Survival" as a singer because I like singing and dancing too. But I've always wanted to be an actor. I was too busy with PM so I didn't get to finish my studies well but I didn't let go of the chance I had to act.

Was it his effort? It was his first movie ever but he got a 'pass'. He wasn't hidden by Jung Woo-sung, Sol Kyung-gu and Han Hyo-joo.

"I was happy to get such a good review. I also felt bashful for all the compliments I got. That's when I decided, I'm going to show them this isn't luck".

"Twenty" did get released first but he shot "Memories of the Sword" first. He takes on a young warrior named Yool who loves Seol Hee. "I was a supporting actor in "Memories of the Sword" so I don't have much but I liked that I was doing things step at a time".

He met "Twenty" last summer. He became Dong-woo, with friends Chi-ho and Kyeong-jae.

Dong-woo dreams of being a comic artist and survives on various part time jobs. He's much more realistic than Chi-ho or Kyeong-jae who don't struggle every day. Dong-woo's character doesn't stand out at all and he's just a regular person.

"I didn't think about visual from the beginning. I thought I might lose something bigger if I did. Why would I act then? I should just go back to being idol. I wanted to be honest about my character so I didn't mind looking shabby for a while".

Dong-woo is realistic. "Dong-woo could relate to a lot of people. I wondered if I could do it. I thought about the time when I was seventeen and still under idol training".

Lee Junho's daily schedule was deadly. He was touring solo in Japan while filming "Twenty". He was also preparing for a group concert his management was preparing for. He did all this at once.

"I was so busy then. I had to go straight to the broadcasting station as soon as I finished filming. You can't sleep 30 minutes in a moving car because you are so tired. But I didn't care because it's something I want to do. I'd rather not do it if I can't get over the sleepiness. I wanted both".

He was really busy but he made it with the help of the people around him. The next step was for him to become Dong-woo and idol Lee Junho on and off. Unlike Dong-woo, Lee Junho had to dance and sing his head off to the new 2PM single "Crazy".

"I felt isolated when working with 2PM. It was quite awkward. That was because I was Dong-woo. I had to get into the music quickly and then become Dong-woo again. It was a great deal of work. So I controlled my mind to go back and forth in a short amount of time. Luckily I can do it so it didn't matter eventually".

Lee Junho did this by himself. He memorized his opponent's lines to and trained himself. Hwang Chan-sung, Ok Taecyeon, Nichkhun and Wooyoung are also actors but he didn't ask them for help. Why?

"We don't get involved with each others' acting. We feel responsible for what have chosen and unless there really is a big problem we don't worry".

Lee Junho has never been part of a scandal.

"I shared feelings with someone after my debut. However, my priority was work. I knew I would fall too deeply for her so I just worked".

He's a workaholic. He says, "I think work is more important than love. I like working more than vacations".

"I do want to see someone and it doesn't matter if she's older or younger. I can suit both. (Laughs)".
