Naver Webtoon "Rest in Peace" to Be Made Into a Drama

Naver webtoon "Rest in Peace" is being made into a drama. The management announced that everything has been officialized with Studio N.

"Rest in Peace" is about the son of a doctor's family and the daughter of a funeral home family who grow up to be one that tries to return the souls of the dead and one who leads the souls of the dead to the other world. The process deals with the two worlds before and after death, creating a Korean style mystery fantasy drama. The oriental subject of the webtoon has led to its export to China not long after it began. Huayi Brothers Korea, which is growing as a global contents company through the production of various contents such as dramas and movies is collaborating with Studio N as co-producers.

Meanwhile, Jaedam Media is responsible for several webtoon IP adaptations, such as "Neighborhood Lawyer Jo Deul-ho" and "The Man In My House", as well as the exporting the rights for "Princess Hours" to Thailand, Mexico and China. "I hope "Rest in Peace" becomes a good example for webtoon-based dramas", said director Hwang Nam-yong. "I anticipate the results created by the best companies in this industry".

The creator of "Rest in Peace", Jo Joo-hee, is known for her works "Kitchen" and "Scholar Who Walks the Night", which was turned into a drama in 2015. She won two Today's Best Toon and was recognized for her popularity and literary value as a storyteller. Yeono (Yeo Joo-hyun), the illustrator, published her works in "Amber" and "The Howling" and won Best Award at the Korea Creative Culture Competition in 2013.
