Movies Out This Week & Wrap on Pusan Intl. Film Festival

Time now for the weekly report on movie releases.
There are two Hollywood flicks gaining attention at the cinema: one comedy, and a drama.
And we also have the latest on the Pusan International Film Festival on its last day.
Here is Lee Jeewon.

First up is "Becoming Jane", a costume drama that portrays an incident in the life of beloved writer Jane Austen.
The English novelist's works include Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice and Emma.
The movie portrays her romance with an Irish rogue, which inspired many of her works especially that of Pride and Prejudice.
The director Julian Jarrold is no stranger to literature, having directed British TV productions of Great Expectations, as well as Crime and Punishment.
Anne Hathaway, who plays the lead character, says the film shows the less-known side of the writer who never got married.

"I definitely think she's not the Jane Austen we've studied. She is going to become that person".

The next film is "The Brave One" starring Jodie Foster.
The Academy award-winning actress plays Erica, who takes revenge against unknown attackers.
The story develops when she and her boyfriend David get ambushed in a random attack that leaves David dead and her deeply wounded.
Erica arms herself after recuperating and goes after her attackers.

We now go over to Busan, where the 12th Pusan International Film Festival wraps up its 9-day run on Friday.
A record number of moviegoers more than 198-thousand attended this year's gala, beating the previous record by about 6-thousand.
That's not really surprising given that organizers increased the number of world and international premiers to 91, the highest in its history.
And rave reviews on the retrospective screening of movies by late Taiwanese director Edward Yang also brought extra attention.
UNESCO awards the movie festival's contribution to Asian cinema with a Fellini Medal on the closing night.
