Movie Buffs and Industry Bigwigs Blanket Busan

It's that time of the year again when Busan opens its arms to film industry bigwigs and movie fans from around the world.
The 12th Pusan International Film Festival kicked off Thursday.
The nine-day festival is Asia's biggest with screenings taking place simultaneously at dozens of theaters around the port city.

That's what the 12th Pusan International Film Festival has to offer during its nine-day run from Thursday.
Film screenings will take place all around the port city from the Haeundae yacht arena to downtown cineplexes.
In line with this year's motto, "Beyond Frame", the festival aims to cut down on the number of parties and increase the number of premieres.
In fact this year's gala marks the largest number of world and Asian premiers in its 12-year history.
Sixty-six films will be showcased for the first time since their production and 26 for the first time outside their country of origin. More than 100 movies still will have their Asian debut at the Pusan International Film Festival.
The movie gala begins with director Feng Xiaogang's latest work "Assembly" and closes with Neon Genesis Evangelion, a Japanese animation both screening at the yacht arena.
In between some special events are being unfurled this year.
One is a groundbreaking on a film post-production center where the finishing touches can be made to movies.
And a series of industry gatherings known as the Asian Film Market will get under way next week.
And on a side note the city of Busan jointly with SK Telecom will enable cellphones equipped with radio-frequency ID tags to operate there, so folks with the gadget can get a whole host of information related to the movie fest.
While tickets to the premieres aren't yet sold out, movie lovers might want to move fast.
Forty-thousand tickets were gobbled up only 20 minutes after the reservation lines opened.
