Today, we are going to explore the trivia of our beloved Jung Hae-in in celebration of his upcoming drama "Pretty Sister Who Buys Me Food". First, let's look at some of his profile facts!

Though we call him a relatively young actor, he is in his 30's. He is a young sprout in the acting field though, having been debuted at 26 years old. One great thing about him debuting at an older age is that we don't have to go through 2 years of sadness while waiting for him to come back from his military duty. He has already served his share of enlistment in his early 20's.

Also, anyone noticed from the profile above that he is born on April 1st? He is an April Fool's Day baby. I guess it makes sense since it is nearly unbelievable that such a perfect human being exists ;)

He is a direct descendant of Jeong Yakyong, one of the greatest thinkers of the Joseon era, who wrote highly influential books about philosophy, science, and theories of government. He was a close confidant of King Jeongjo. Some say that he was like Leonardo da Vinci of Joseon. Jeong Yakyong often appears in historical dramas as a kind-hearted, wise scholar such as in the dramas "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" and "Love in the Moonlight", which, both were played by actor Ahn Nae-sang. Since Jung Hae-in is the sixth-generation descendant of this highly respected historical figure, many people think of Jung Hae-in positively.

He wasn't originally planning on becoming an actor at first. Jung Hae-in was street casted by an entertainment agency associate at an ice cream shop he was chilling at. He was taking a break as he just finished up taking the college entrance exam. He was originally getting into the tech field, but after being casted by his agency, he changed his major to acting.

Though he was casted at 19 years old, he decided to finish up school and serve his military duty first before officially getting into the field. He was a bit chubby in college, but he thought that if he can't lose weight, he shouldn't be acting and lost 12kg (about 26.5lb) before his debut.

Jung Hae-in has a younger brother who is 7 years younger than him. Though his pictures are not released in public, according to the actor, he is also handsome and they look very similar. I guess the handsome gene just runs in the family. The fans are curious of how his brother looks like and wondering if he too, will join his older brother and become an actor.

In an interview, he shared that he enjoys cooking and quite skillful at it. His favorite food is Korean food and his specialty is Kimchi soup and soybean soup.

He loves a good beer. His usual is about 7 to 8 cups with a 500cc cup. However, he can't really drink soju.

Because of his striking appearance in the drama "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" as the refreshing, handsome, athletic first love of Ji Eun-tak, Tae-hee, some viewers still remember the actor by the name "Tae-hee oppa". When Jung Hae-in appeared for the first time, "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God"'s official website was overflowing with the question of who is this actor. Many netizens said that "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" has all the handsome actors in one drama already and now even the cameo is handsome.

Jung Hae-in may have gotten some fans with "Guardian: The Lonely and Great God" but he really received the spotlight when he appeared in the drama "While You Were Sleeping - 2017" and revealed his abs. This scene caused the female viewers to stop and be speechless in front of the TV and his name was the no.1 trending search of the night. He also received the nickname 'white chocolate abs' from this particular scene.

By his usual behaviors in public and his choice of words in the interviews, he is highly praised by the audience of his righteous-living image. Some mentions that it must be the influence of his great-great-great-great grandfather, scholar Jeong Yakyong.

Since his integrity and honorable personality became famous in the industry, he received the Good Character Award from a news station along with the veteran actor Jang Dong-gun in 2017.

The trivia could go on and on but for today, we are going to end with an adorable picture of Jung Hae-in. Now that you've learned more about this rising star, tune in for his upcoming drama "Pretty Sister Who Buys Me Food" with actress Son Ye-jin.
