"Since I've been acting for a long time, I now know how to look the best [on camera]. Although, I don't really want to be acting based on such calculations yet. I try to focus on the moment whenever I'm filming. Once I get into the character, it actually makes me quite nervous and excited".

First, So Ji-sub shared about his thoughts in acting and proceeded to talk about his new character Woo-jin in "Be with You".

"Sometimes I was a bit bothered to have my real image matching up to the character, it made me felt as if I was naked and bare. However, starting at some point, I feel at ease whenever I play a character who has a similar personality to me. I did like playing Woo-jin this time since he and I are alike".

He said that he hesitated to take this role at first. Reason being, So Ji-sub is not even married yet, and to play a role of a father, he was concerned that he might not be able to play it well. On the contrary, he actually slipped right into the character and performed naturally once he started filming. According to him, he cried while watching the complete movie.

"I don't normally cry when I watch movies, but for this one, I started tearing up from the very start. When I watch the father, who can't do anything else for the son, show up to the sports festival and run, it made my heart ache. I was also emotional since it reminded me of my wretched childhood. Plus, I think I just cry a lot because I'm getting older *laugh*"

So Ji-sub plays a wide range of age for this character as he appears as Woo-jin's 20's to 40's. His acting is so detailed as he acts the young man who is shy around his crush, to a man in his 40's, missing his late wife every day.

"I guess I can't hold unto time. I tried to look young by adding hair pieces to make my hair look fuller and even use CG when necessary. When I was acting the character in his 40s, I added white hair".

The actor also shared the change in his perspective on marriage as he played the role of a father in this movie.

"Since I was filming a romance, I thought to myself, I want to be in love. When I was filming my last movie "The Battleship Island", I didn't even think about marriage, but since I've been playing with my on-screen son Kim Ji-hwan-I, I started to feel the change in my heart. I think it's time for me to think about marriage. Of course, I want to be a husband who puts wife as a priority over children".
