According to drama officials on December 7th, Lee Seung-hyo is going to take on the role of King Gojong, who takes authority away from the military government during the Koryo times.

King Gojong suffered a Mongol invasion and lost the North during his reign but moved the capital to Ganghwa-do and resisted against the Mongolians.

Lee Seung-hyo played the role of Kim Yoo-sin's (Uhm Tae-woong) friend and artist Alcheon-rang in the 2009 MBC drama "Queen Seon-deok" and his new attempt at a historical drama is eagerly anticipated.

"God of War" deals with the story of a beggar who rises to the top after fighting the Japanese feudal government that controlled the country for 60 years instead of the emperor.

Based on historical facts, "God of War" will show the Tripitaka Koreana and the special defense unit that fought in the war.

"God of War" will air in February after the end of "A Thousand Kisses".
