Lee told reporters on Thursday that he is pleased to be part of the project. "I'd been constantly looking for the next project to do. I know the producer personally, so I felt he'd understand what I want to do, and what I can do. So I decided to join".

Lee's most recent regular TV work has been on cable channel tvN's reality show "Three Meals a Day", on which he gained popularity for his down-to-earth personality while farming and cooking in the remote countryside.

In the new drama, Lee will star alongside Uee, who is 17 years his junior. "I don't think the age difference matters. Uee is young but she's a hard worker and we have a good partnership", Lee said.

The show revolves around a money-obsessed man and a terminally ill single mother, and their discovery of the true meaning of love.
