"Under an agreement with Missing Dorothy, Lee Hye-young decided to leave the company and do something meaningful with her stake by donating it to charity", her agent said Thursday.

Lee started Missing Dorothy back in 2002, and for eight years it was the best-selling fashion brand owned by a celebrity.

In 2004, she started marketing her brand on TV shopping channels, which sent annual sales above W10 billion (US$1=W1,153) a year.

But Lee, who is approaching her 40s, had felt that her age would not be compatible with the fashion concept of Missing Dorothy, which targets women in their 20s and 30s.

Her stake is worth an estimated W1 billion, which will go to social welfare centers and other charities.
