Brazilian Carnival, one of the largest festivals held each year, kicked off on Friday evening (local time).

A Korean performance team was invited to this year's event to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Korean immigration to the exotic country, which officially falls next year.

During the opening parade of Carnival at the Sambadrome in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday morning, a group of Koreans in traditional costumes and royal dresses stunned onlookers by adding some Asian history to the colorful pageant.
