Korean Takes Prize in Moscow Ballet Competition

Park Seon-mee, a student at the Korea National University of Arts, became the first Korean to win the Moscow International Ballet Competition, one of the world's top four.

Park (18) shared the top honor with Russia's Elizaveta Kokoreva in the junior girls' duet. There was no second placer.

Korea had produced three runners-up before in thes world-renowned quadrennial event -- Kim Ki-min came second in the junior boy's duet in 2009 without a winner, and Lee Dong-hoon and Kim Li-hoe came second in the senior duet in the same year.

Besides Park, Lee Soo-bin placed second in junior girls' solo and Lee Sang-min was awarded a diploma in the men's senior duet.
