Korea and New Zealand join hands in the field of cinema.

Energy Group Daesung Group said its affiliate company Buy Next Generation of High Technology and New Zealand's Park Road Post would establish a joint cinema firm with a view to seeking world cinema market's Korea advance.

Daesung Group stated the two companies enter into a strategic tie-up with the view of seeking the development of Korean cinema industry as well as world cinema market's Korea advance, adding more details will be explained through a press conference on Mar. 21.

'The Lord of the Rings' series' filmmaker Peter Jackson set up 'Park Road Post' with a view to investing proceeds of 'The Lord of the Rings' series for the purpose of his motherland's cinema industry development.

In a press conference on Mar. 21, Daesung Group Chairman David Kim Young-hoon and Amb. David Talyor of New Zealand to Korea and so forth including the persons concerned of the two companies are to attend.

The Lord of the Rings had been nominated for 13 Academy Awards, including Best Director, and won four. The film also received the American Film Institute's prestigious Film Award and was nominated for 12 awards from the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), winning awards for Best Film and garnering Jackson the David Lean Award for direction.

In addition to four Golden Globe nominations, the film also received numerous distinctions and awards around the world.
